Academic Callendar 2020 and Course Registration for Fall Semester AY2020

Academic Callendar 2020 was amended. Please refer to "2020 Academic Calendar 【Master's and Doctoral Program】".


  • Please carefully check the rules of course registration, and requirements for graduation before beginning course registration to avoid errors. The University may cancel your course registration if there is an error.
  • Student screenings for Courses Offered at Other Campuses may be held after the course registration period if a large number of students register for a course.

Master's Program

[2018 Regulations] Students who expect to complete the program in AY 2020 Fall Semester

    • SUBMISSION OF THE MASTER'S THESIS (3:00 pm on January 12)
      Please check the news on "keio.jp". No changes have been made to the method of submission and the deadline, etc.
    • FINAL PRESENTATION(February 1 and 2)
      Online presentation

[2018 Regulations] Students who expect to complete the program in AY 2021 Spring Semester

  • MID-TERM PRESENTATION (from January 28 to February 2)
    Students will upload a presentation video on Master Thesis Sysem by deadline (January 28) and answer comments/questions from instructors.
    Presentation needs to be evaluated by at least 6 instructors.
    (Instructors will visit the presentation which is interesting for them, so students do not need to find 6 instructors in advance, unless you want a certain instructor to evaluate your presentation.

[2001 Regulations] Students who expect to complete the program in AY 2020 Fall Semester

  • MID-TERM PRESENTATION (October 28)
    Online presentation
  • SUBMISSION OF THE MASTER'S THESIS (3:00 pm on January 12)

Doctral Program

Academic Requirements

Each student's situation in regard to their research progress will be taken into account as much as possible, so that students will not be at any disadvantage. If you have any concerns, please consult with the Academic Affairs Office as soon as possible.
Please also check the news on "keio.jp" for details.


  • Original Syllabus Proposal
    Submit the Original Syllabus Proposal to the Academic Affairs Office by email.
  • International Research Aptitude
    The Main Research Advisor will submit the result of the evaluation made by the Research Advisory Group, Supporting materials should be submitted at a later date. Please take a picture of the supporting materials (not PDF file) and submit to the Academic Affairs Office by mail. (In the case the picture is not clear, we ask student to submit the original version.)
  • Skill-building Courses
    Make an application to the Academic Affairs Office by email. It is not necessary to attach a grade report.
  • TEACHING EXPERIENCE
    Regardless of the format of the class taught, it will count as teaching experience and will be reviewed.
    (Online classes will be considered as regular classes held on campus.)

Graduate School Seminar

There are no changes to the schedule for Graduate School Seminars.
Presentations will be conducted online.
Meeting URLs, etc. will be sent out together with the notification for each seminar.


Submission of Required Documents for Application for the Establishment of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee

Before submission, please send the documents to the Academic Affairs Office (g-staff@sfc.keio.ac.jp) for confirmation and revise them if there are some errors. You need to submit the documents without any error by the deadline. If an error remains, the documents might not be accepted.

Regarding the presentation at international conferences in the Requirements for Applying for the Doctoral Degree, the presentation method is not a factor to be considered, and online presentations will count as having met the requirements.
Note: In the case that the international conference and the like at which the student was expected to give a presentation was cancelled or postponed, the GSMG Committee disscuss the case beforehand, so please consult with your Main Research Advisor.


Final Examination

All final examinations will be conducted online.
Please consult with your Main Research Advisor. (There is not any procedure at the Academmic Affairs Office.)
