【IMPORTANT】Changes to AY2020 Academic Calendar

Due to the spread of the Pneumonia Associated with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, Keio University has decided to postpone the start date of Spring Semester and the orientation dates after careful evaluation of the situation of respective faculties and graduate schools.

In addition, due to the announcement of the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Spring Semester-end examination period will be from Thursday, July 23 to Saturday, August 1.

Orientation: Monday, April 13 - Tuesday, April 28
Spring Semester Classes Start: Thursday, April 30
Spring Semester-end Examination Period: from Thursday, July 23 to Saturday, August 1
* Please note that Spring Semester-end examinations may also be conducted on July 23 and/or July 24 (public holidays).

Details on academic calendars of respective faculties and graduate schools will be updated as needed. Some of the orientations may be held earlier than the schedule above, so please make sure to check the links below.

Depending on how the situation unfolds in future, it may become necessary to make further changes to the calendar. Please make sure to keep looking out for latest announcements on Keio Student Website or on keio.jp Portal.

Notes for the Spring and Fall Semesters

  1. This calendar excludes the Law School, School of Medicine (second- to sixth-year), Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Business Administration, Faculty of Pharmacy (second- to sixth-year), Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of System Design and Management, and Graduate School of Media Design.
  2. The academic calendar of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care (second- to fourth-year) and Graduate School of Health Management are specified by each faculty / graduate school.
  3. The schedule for orientations and makeup class days will be decided by each faculty or graduate school.
  4. Details on academic calendars of respective faculties and graduate schools will be updated as needed. Some of the orientations may be held earlier than the schedule above.
  5. Depending on how the situation unfolds in future, it may become necessary to make further changes to the calendar.
  6. Details on online course registration will be provided by each faculty or graduate school.
  7. The Waseda-Keio Baseball Games are held over the weekend in late May to early June in the Spring Semester and late October to early November in the Fall Semester.

    • Entrance Orientation: April 26 (Mita), May 9 (four cities except for Tokyo) (change to online orientation on both days)
