■Cautions
*Students cannot submit an application for temporary leave of absence for the Fall Semester 2025 yet.
*If there are any deficiencies, we will contact you by message through K-Support, so please be sure to respond. Applications will not be accepted until the deficiencies are resolved.
*Interview with academic advisor is omitted at the moment so please leave the date of interview and professor's name blank. If the interview is required, we will contact the students directly.
*In principle, the Faculty of Economics and the Graduate School of Economics accepts applications for leave of absence every semester. If you wish to take a leave of absence for more than one semester, please remember to reapply during the leave of absence application period for the following semester (spring semester: after March, fall semester: after August).
*If you wish to apply for accreditation for credits and inclusion in number of years of enrollment, please apply for 'Study Aborad'. If you apply for temporary leave of absence, you cannot apply for both credit transfer and inclusion in number of years of enrollment.
*The period of temporary leave of absence does not count toward the number of years of study required for advancement/graduation.
*Please submit a notification of returning to study as soon as possible after the temporary leave of absence ends.
*Please note that students who plan to graduate in 3.5 years by 3.5-year Early Graduation System cannot take temporary leave of absence for all semesters. (For more information about this System, please check the student website and K-Support News.)
If you wish to study abroad at an overseas university, you must apply for "Study Abroad". If your application is approved, you can apply for credit transfer and inclusion of the period of study abroad (so that the period of study abroad is counted as your period of enrollment at Keio as well) after your returning to study at Keio.
Please check the following information and submit the application for the "Study Abroad" with the required documents.

(3) (For students enrolled in the Graduate School of Economics only) Email with the supervisor's approval

(6) Statement of reasons (in any format) : Please fill in your student ID number and name, and include any supplementary information that were supposed to be told the Academic Advisor for PEARL at the interview.
■Cautions
*Please submit a notification of returning to study as soon as possible after the period of study abroad ends.
*If you do not complete the procedures after returning to Keio, the period of study abroad will not be counted toward your period of enrollment. If you wish to have your period of study counted toward your period of enrollment, please submit an Application for Credit Transfer and Inclusion of Study Period, following the instructions in the K-Support news on it.

For those after their leave of absence of Spring Semester: September 22, 2025
For those after their study abroad: The next day of the last day of approved period of study abroad (please check the notification letter of permission for study abroad that was sent to you before the study abroad).

Students who have returned to Japan after participating in the exchange program offered by the Faculty of Economics (Faculty-wide) are required to submit the "Study Abroad Report" form below along with the Notification of returning to study.

*Students who have returned to Japan after participating in the exchange program offered by the International Center (University-wide) are required to submit a "Study Abroad Report" according to the instructions of the International Center.
■Required document
Medical certificate (If you have been absent due to illness or injury, please attach a medical certificate)
■Application Process
Please consult with mita-kei[@]adst.keio.ac.jp before the submission of the Notification of Withdrawal.
In principle, the procedure will proceed as follows
1. Describe the contents of the withdrawal form and send a photo/scanned file to the Faculty of Economics, Mita Office of Student Services via e-mail.
2. Office of Student Services will check the contents and request corrections if there are any deficiencies.
3. If the deficiencies are corrected, Office of Student Services will ask the student to apply for the interview with Academic Advisor.
4. After the interview, please send a hard copy of withdrawal from and Student ID card by post.
5. Office of Student Services will contact the guarantor for confirmation. Once consent is confirmed, the faculty meeting will be held. If approved, a notice will be sent to the guarantor.
