The details posted here are for scholarships/financial aid intended for overseas activities which are not undertaken as part of degree studies, including student exchanges, short-term study abroad programs, and presentations at international conferences.
This scholarship is intended to support students who are strongly motivated to pursue their studies but for whom participation in global academic pursuits is problematic for economic reasons. The Tobitate! (Leap for Tomorrow) Japan Study Abroad Initiative (Young Ambassador Program) is a support system offered in collaboration between the public and private sectors, which aims to foster the "personnel required by society, and especially industry," and the "personnel capable of shining on the world stage." It offers support for study abroad plans which emphasize "intercultural experience" and "practical activities" overseas, while allowing recipients the opportunity to shape their own experience.
