Keio University Study Abroad Programs

Keio University conducts student exchange programs (university-endorsed student exchange programs) with more than 90 overseas partner institutions every year. These programs offer students an opportunity to study for one year at any one of the partner institutions. Through international exchange of students, Keio University expects students to develop an international awareness and broaden their intellectual horizons. Each year, about 30 SFC students participate in the programs. In addition, several students from SFC go abroad to study either on scholarships or at their own expense.

Those students who apply in any of the following three categories are accredited as students 'Studying Abroad'.

  1. Study abroad at overseas partner institutions of Keio University (overseas education through student exchange program)
  2. Study abroad sponsored by foreign governments, universities, or other public organizations approved by Keio University (overseas education with scholarships)
  3. Study abroad which is self-financed

Note: In general, those students studying abroad for the purpose of learning a foreign language will be granted a Temporary Leave of Absence.
Students must carefully read [留学のてびき] or Guidebook for Overseas Study and thereafter attend the Orientation for Studying Abroad.(The guidebook and the website are available in Japanese only.)
