About GIGA Program

The Global Information and Communication Technology and Governance Academic (GIGA) Program, Keio University's first English-language based undergraduate degree program, began in the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies in September 2011. All core classes for the program are offered in English, making it possible to acquire the required number of credits for graduation by only taking courses conducted in English. International students also have the opportunity to study the Japanese language to help them gain an understanding of Japanese culture and society, and increase their chances of finding employment in Japan in future. Now, in Academic Year 2015, the GIGA (renamed Global Information and Governance Academic) Program is also offered by the Faculty of Policy Management.

Students of the Faculty of Policy Management and the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies can register the GIGA Program courses regardless of their faculty, student year, or admission method. Students can earn GIGA Certificate by applying in advance and meeting the requirements listed below.

As certificate details and requirements vary depending on the enrollment period, please carefully review the relevant sections before applying.
