System for Extension of Enrollment Period

The latest notice and information with the change of Academic Calendar and the Campus Shutdown are available on News at keio.jp. Be sure to check them.

Fourth-Year students who have earned the required number of credits for graduation may extend their enrollment for up to another two semesters if it does not exceed the maximum period of enrollment set forth in Article 156 of Undergraduate Faculty Rules and Regulations. This can be done by applying for and receiving approval for an extension of enrollment period (Article 169 of Undergraduate Faculty Rules and Regulations).

Regarding the semester(s) for which an extension of enrollment is permitted, the following conditions apply:

  1. While enrolled, the student must abide by the Keio Rules and Regulations
  2. The application can only be submitted once and the permitted graduation semester cannot be changed.
  3. If a student leaves the University in the middle of a semester for which enrollment is permitted, the student is considered to have withdrawn from the University.
  4. During the semester(s) in which the student is allowed to enroll, the student must register one or more courses and make an effort to earn the credits.
  5. Students must be enrolled in the University in the final semester before graduation. (They must not be taking a temporary leave of absence, be studying abroad, nor have been suspended in the final semester.)
