Reissuing Student ID Cards

Student ID cards are required for taking examinations, using the Media Centers (libraries), receiving diplomas, and other administrative processes.
If you lose or damage your student ID card or the sticker on the reverse side, please promptly carry out the reissue procedures.

What to Do Before Applying to Have a Card Reissued

・If have lost your student ID card, please check if it has already been recovered using one of the methods below.
 - Ask the applicable office of your campus if it has been found and returned to the university as lost property:Lost & Found
 - From K-Support , navigate to the "FAQs and Inquiries" (FAQ・問い合わせ) menu and select the "Inquiry" (問い合わせ) to ask if it has been found.

・In the case of a defective magnetic stripe, bring your student ID card to the office before you make an application for reissuance. The staff will be able to restore the magnetic data during your visit.



Process for Reissuing Student ID Cards

How to apply From K-Support , navigate to "Applications"(申請) and select the "Reissue of Student ID Card"(学生証再交付) to make your request.
Required Documents
  • Photograph (only required if you wish to change your photo. Please prepare it as described below.)

  - Clear color image (JPEG format) at least 284px by 237px (24mm height by 20mm width)
  - No hats, caps or other headwear
  - Frontal shot of upper body
  - Backgrounds should be a plain white, gray, or blue solid tone (no landscapes, curtains, etc.)
  - Taken within the last three months
  - Images edited or modified using photo software, apps, or other means will not be accepted

Processing fee
  • Loss or damage: 2,000 yen
  • Name change: Free of charge (card will be exchanged)
  • Damage to magnetic stripe or IC chip for cards with no apparent damage: Free of charge (card will be exchanged)

Important Notes
  • As of April 1, 2025, applications for reissuing student IDs should be made through K-Support. Be sure to read the page on "How to Use K-Support" manual (User's Manual, keio.jp account required) the "Important Notes" section of the application form.
  • It typically takes several days from your application for your student ID card to be reissued.
  • When applying for a reissue due to a change of name, first register your new name through the "Change to Family Name or Given Name (Student)"page on K-Support before applying to have a student ID card reissued.

How to apply If you need to have your registration sticker reissued because it has expired or been damaged, bring your student ID card to the relevant office listed below.

Please carry out the procedures at the applicable counter on the campus at which you are enrolled.

Additional Notes

  • If you find your old student ID card after being issued a new card, please return it to the applicable office listed above. The old student ID card cannot be used after a new one has been issued (it will become invalid).
  • No changes or cancelations will be accepted after payment has been made. Note also that refunds cannot be made for any reason.
  • For applications made due to a name change or damage to the magnetic stripe or IC chip, the student ID card will be exchanged for a new one.
