Update History



Closure of university facilities

Due to the wide spread of Pneumonia Associate with the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, Shutdown Period of University Campuses has been amended (original closure planned until May 6). (Updated: April 28)

Period: From Tuesday, April 7 until further notice
(original closure planned until May 6).

*We are considering about permission for students to entry to some facilities, in order to continue the education and research on each campus.

Spring Semester classes start: Thursday, April 30

*State of Emergency was announced by the Japanese Government on April 7th, however, the academic calendar remains unchanged.
*There will be no face-to-face teaching during spring semester AY2020 and from the class start date, courses will continue to be provided online. (Updated: April 28)

*Excluding Second year level to Sixth year level students affiliated with Faculty of Medicine
*Students can add/change/delete course registration during the course registration period. However, lecturers in charge of respective courses may contact you before the classes start, therefore students are highly recommended to register for courses before Tuesday, April 21.
*Students should register for courses referring to the course registration guide (available from the Keio Student Website) and announcements on keio.jp.
*In case there are error messages on the Academic Affairs Web System, students should solve errors in course registration referring to course registration guide.


Confirmation on the Class Support System

Information on course materials, information on course conduct (live feed, on-demand etc.), assignments, or announcements from lecturers will be posted to the Class Support System. Please make sure to check the system regularly.
Registered courses will be shown on the Class Support System on the next morning of the day the registration was made.


First year level students should register the email address on the Class Support System by Tuesday, April 21.

Certificates

Certificates cannot be issued at the Certificate Issuing Machines during the shutdown period of university campuses.
However, students who require certificates for applying scholarships or education loans, applying to the Graduate Schools, extending period of stay, or changing status of residence will be able to obtain some certificates. Please apply by the following form. (Updated: May1)

*The university will pay the issuance fee and postage during AY2020 (only for current students).

Re-Issuing Student ID Card, Enroll Confirmation Sticker

Please note that a student ID card can be reissued by mail. Please check the following pdf for the details.
If a student id card will be re-issued, a enroll confirmation sticker which is affixed to the back of their student ID card will also be re-issued.(Updated: May 8)


Please apply through the following form if you wish to re-issue only their enrollment confirmation sticker due to non-delivery or loss of the sticker.(Updated: May 8)


Application for Study Abroad, Temporary Leave of Absence, Withdrawal

All university offices are closed and no procedures can be dealt with at the counter nor by post. Please take care of your matters after the University closure is terminated. However, some procedures may be done by e-mail. Please check keio.jp for details.

Preventing infections


Having fever above 37.5 Celsius or Having symptoms of Pneumonia associated with 2019 Novel Coronavirus

●If you match the following description, please remain in self-isolation and report to Keio University Health Center.

  • Having fever above 37.5 Celsius, increasing sense of malaise, or breathing troubles

●If you meet any of the following criteria, please refrain from coming to university for 14 days after the date of entry, remain in self-isolation and report to Keio University Health Center.

  • Having contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) without adequate protection to prevent infection
  • Entering Japan from countries and regions ranked Level 3 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' infection danger level within past 2 weeks
  • Having contact with someone who entered Japan from countries and regions ranked Level 3 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' infection danger level within past 2 weeks

If you are diagnosed as being infected

Do not come to university until permitted by your doctor, and immediately report to Keio University Health Center.

Traveling overseas

In accordance with the infection danger level that is set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, students are, in principle, prohibited from travelling to following countries and regions until the danger level is lowered from the current level of 2.

If you return or enter Japan within past 2 weeks

Please continue to observe your health by taking your temperature twice daily for a period of two weeks from the day you return to or enter Japan (applicable to all people returning to/entering Japan from overseas).

If you entered Japan from countries and regions ranked Level 2 in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' infection danger level, please quarantine yourself and avoid unnecessary outing for 2 weeks after the date of entry. Please continue to strictly monitor your health throughout this period, and wear a face mask when going out.

In case of entering Japan from countries and regions ranked Level 3 within past 2 weeks, or having had contact with people who have entered Japan from countries and regions ranked Level 3 within past 2 weeks, students are prohibited from going to school and must remain in quarantine for 2 weeks after the date of entry or contact. If you are planning to come to Japan via countries and regions ranked Level 2, including transit, make sure to act well in advance before the new semester in case of more immigration restriction. If you are planning to enter Japan from other countries and regions, prepare for change in situation and act in advance anyway.
