To all Keio students,

Student life (extracurricular activities) in the face of rising numbers of Omicron-variant COVID-19 infections

Happy New Year to you all.

The number of community-acquired infections have been on an upward trend since the Year-end and New Year's holidays, with the increasing risk of infection is driven, alongside other factors, by the emergence of the highly-contagious Omicron variant. As this has also translated to infections among Keio students, we are renewing our request that you all take thorough precautions to prevent further spread.

Please reacquaint yourself with 徹底した感染拡大防止対策で充実したキャンパスライフを ("Preventing Infections While Enjoying Extracurricular Activities";https://www.students.keio.ac.jp/en/com/life/health/covid-19-20211101.html) which was shared by the Student Affairs Center on the Keio University Student Website on November 1 of last year.

In addition to the precautions for eating in groups, we request that you take thorough measures, to an advanced level, ensuring, based on the principles described in this post, to avoid high-risk, enclosed spaces, such as karaoke booths, live music venues, and party spots.

As you spend more and more time on campus, and participate in extracurricular activities, you will have increased opportunities to interact with your peers. At such times, we strongly encourage all of you as Keio students to maintain a high level of vigilance and take actions to ensure that your campus life remains both enjoyable and fulfilling.
