The impact of the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) is also affecting the financial situation of Keio students. There are students who have no choice but to cover most of their living expenses through earnings from part-time work due to the financial difficulties of their families, living away from home, etc., but because of reductions in their income, it is thought that some students are finding it difficult to afford sufficient food on a daily basis. With the hope of easing some of the anxieties of these students and helping them maintain the conditions that will enable them to devote themselves to their studies as much as possible, we have decided to continue providing assistance relating to "food" in the Spring Semester. (This assistance is to be provided with the cooperation of the Keio Co-op.) If you would like to receive assistance, please apply in accordance with the following procedures.
Selected students will receive "food vouchers" worth 3000 yen (10 × 300 yen vouchers) that can be used to purchase meals or groceries at the University Co-op Cafeteria or University Co-op Store on each campus.
500 students (second call; tentative)
(Only those who meet conditions ① and ② below are eligible to apply.)
① Students enrolled at an undergraduate faculty or graduate school (including international students)
However, non-degree students, including non-degree students (for credit), and correspondence course students are not eligible to apply.
② Students who must cover their academic fees and expenses and grocery costs through income earned from part-time work, but who are worried because they are not earning enough money due to the closure of their places of employment or employers currently refraining from opening their businesses.
※Those who were approved at the time of the first recruitment are also permitted to apply; however, anyone who has not taken receipt of food vouchers issued after the first call at co-op cafeterias by September 30 will be given lower priority during the screening.
※Privately financed international students who have not yet completed the "scholarship applicant registration" for the Spring Semester are also eligible to apply.
(Students who meet the following criteria will be given preference during selection.)
※We may refer to the information on the financial situation of your household that you submitted when you applied for scholarships.
※If your address is different from the "current address" you have registered with the university, please carry out procedures immediately to change your address.

The purpose of this assistance program is not to promote dining out (multiple people dining together in groups and conversing) at the Co-op Cafeteria. You must not act in ways that increase the risk of COVID-19 infections when dining using the food vouchers. Please follow the infection prevention measures in place at each cafeteria.
If you have any questions about this assistance program, please contact us using the dedicated form below.(We will not be able to respond to questions at the counter of the Office of Student Services on each campus or by e-mail or telephone.)
▶Contact form (Japanese language only)
In order to receive the "food vouchers," you will need your student ID card (IC card). Students who have enrolled before 2020 had better exchange your student ID card to the latest version as soon as possible.
(Part of the costs incurred by the university to implement this assistance program will be covered by the Japan Student Services Organization's (JASSO) "subsidy for measures against COVID-19.")
