【Important Notice】 Closure of Campus Facilities Due to the Rapid Spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease)

April 3, 2020

To all Keio students,

Keio University Student Affairs Center

On April 3, 2020, the Keio University Infection Response Center for COVID-19 announced the "Closure of Campus Facilities Due to the Rapid Spread of COVID-19," in principle, prohibiting access to all campuses and the use of all facilities (excluding Shinanomachi Campus).

Period: April 7 (Tues.) to April 20 (Mon.) (tentative)

(This period may be extended depending on the future spread of the virus or if the government declares a state of emergency.)

In this regard, Keio students are strongly instructed to take the following actions. To prevent the further spread of infection, each of you, as Keio students, must be highly aware of the ongoing situation and act responsibly. Ensure that you "do not become infected" and that you "do not infect others" while making sensible decisions and actions.

1. No entry on to Campus grounds

Facilities on each campus will be locked. Keio students are prohibited from coming on campus.

2. Prohibition of extracurricular activities

All student club activates must be cancelled.

【Take thorough steps to prevent and avoid the spread of infection】

You are expected to thoroughly implement the directions already issued by the Student Affairs Center.

Avoid all unnecessary and non-urgent outings, take care of your health by eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep, enforce a strict regimen of hand hygiene (washing hands, using a disinfectant, etc.), and wear a mask.

If you have a cold accompanied by a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher, please stay at home and report this to the Health Center.

If you have returned to or entered Japan from overseas, stay confined for a period of 14 days and stringently observe your health primarily by taking your temperature twice daily.

Detailed information on COVID-19 is posted on the Keio student website (https://www.students.keio.ac.jp/en/com/class/schedule/covid-19.html).

Be sure to check this by yourselves and make every effort to prevent infection.
